Jeannette "Lassie" Jones Wiedmann, 100, of Baltimore, passed away at home on Monday, August 5, 2024. Born on March 29, 1924, in her family home in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Marshall and Mary Jeannette Shriver Jones and the beloved wife of the late Dr. Alfred Wiedmann, who passed away in 2015.
Lassie was a member of The Shrine of the Sacred Heart Parish, The Society of The Ark and The Dove, Daughters of the American Revolution, Maryland Historical Society, and Baltimore Museum of Art. She was a member of the Shriver Family of Union Mills and was proud descendent of Chief Justice John Marshall.
Lassie lead a century-long eventful life hosting countless parties at the family home, including Thanksgiving, Easter, Caroling, weddings, summer picnics and Sunday morning kidney stew. Whether it was a large party or a few friends, it was always fun.
Surviving her are four daughters: Jeannette McGowan of Baltimore, Maria Maher of Winterset, Iowa, Elisabeth Winter, and Ursula (Bill) Goldman of Baltimore, two sons: Al Wiedmann Jr. of Fort Collins, Colorado and Peter Wiedmann of Baltimore. She was a loving grandmother of 15; caring great-grandmother of 14; and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eight beloved siblings.
Family and friends may call at the family home from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday, August 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Shrine of the Sacred Heart, 5800 Smith Avenue in Mt. Washington, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10 with interment to follow at Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville, MD. Family and friends are invited back to the family home after the interment.
