Jo Ann Shock, 82, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at her home. Born on February 11, 1942, in Baltimore City, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph James Pollutra and Christine Perrera Pollutra. She was the beloved wife of Edward George Shock.
Years ago, Jo Ann and her husband owned "Jo-Ed's Restaurant" and "Jo-Ed's Sub Shop." She enjoyed cooking, reading, and crocheting. She also once worked as a bookkeeper for Old Tyme Inc. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving her in addition to her husband are daughter: Barbara Shock Hull and husband Gregory of Manchester, and grandchildren: Skylar, Morgan, Logan, and Joseph. Jo Ann is also survived by her siblings: Louise Kontz of Westminster, MD, Joseph Pollutra of Baltimore, MD, Michael Pollutra of Baltimore, MD, and Christy Dawson of White Hall, MD.
Jo Ann was predeceased by her children: Edward Hinton Shock, Leonard Hinton Shock, Laura Shock Grogg, and siblings: Barbara Pollutra and Paul Pollutra.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 3-6 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.
Interment is private.
