Joan Elizabeth Brewer, 76 years old of Westminster, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Sunnywood Assisted Living in Westminster.
Born September 3, 1932 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Theodore N. Turner and Mildred C. Langhirt Kraft.
Step Daughter of the late Andrew Kraft. She was pre deceased by her husband, Donald Edwin Brewer in 1995.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of the Reisterstown Baptist Church and was also a member of the church choir. She had many hobbies and interest such as writing poems and tending to her house plants.
She also played the harpsichord, enjoyed cooking for family and friends and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michele Bailey of Westminster, Raymond Ganong of Louisville, KY, Cindy Lu Shifren of Berkley Springs, WV, David Ganong of Bishopville, MD and Rev. John Riley of Hildebran, NC. Stepmother of Richard "Kyf" Brewer of Bucks County, PA and Robin Karpinsky of Ohio, Sister of Richard Kraft of Dundalk. Also survived by former husband Conrad Thomas Ganong of Westminster. She was predeceased by her 2nd husband Rev. Joseph Tucker Riley, Sr. She is survived by eleven grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Reisterstown Baptist Church, 25 E. Chestnut Hill Lane, Reisterstown 21136 on Tuesday, June 2nd from 10:00am – 1:00pm at which time services will begin. Pastor John Rudd and Rev. John Riley officiating.
Interment in Maryland Veterans Cemetery-Garrison Forest at 2:30pm.
