Joan Bennett Harden, 88, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, surrounded by her children at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Hampstead, MD. Born on October 6, 1933, in Owings Mills, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Theodore and Elizabeth Virginia Allen Bennett. She was the beloved wife of the late Morris Frederick Harden, Jr., who passed away on January 25, 1993.

Joan graduated from Franklin High School in 1951. She was hired by the federal government and worked at Bendix in Towson, Maryland. A few years later, she fell in love and married Moe in February of 1956. They started a family in 1958 and as a homemaker Joan loved camping, travelling to Daytona on winter trips, and hosting family parties. She was an avid Orioles fan and loved NASCAR races. In recent years she enjoyed her Bunco group and gathering for lunch with high school friends. She also cherished her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events and activities. Joan was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children: Lynn Harden Williams and husband Craig of Hampstead, MD, Leslie Carol Bosley and husband Steve of Manchester, MD, Fred Harden and wife Jody of Upperco, MD, and Lisa Harden Kemp and husband Paul of Hampstead, MD; grandchildren: Chris (Sarah), Garrett (Chelsea) and Mike Williams, Curtis, Brooks (Devon), Brady and Corbin Bosley, Winston and Reese Harden, and Rachel Whittenberger (A.J.), Jacob and Owen Kemp; great-grandchildren: Braiden, Addyson and Bailey Bosley, and Grant Williams. Joan is also survived by siblings Charlotte Neeb, Rebecca Staley, Robert Bennett, Virginia Grossnickle, Carole Proudfoot and Melissa Shipley. She was predeceased by her brother John Bennett.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 2, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 3, at 10 am.

Interment to follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville, MD.
