Joann W. "Jody" Carrick, 74, of Glyndon died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at home.
Born April 3, 1933, in Bloomsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Mitchell and Ethel Winifred Lohman Somers. She was the wife of Malcolm E. Carrick, her husband of 56 years.
She was a 1951 graduate of Seaton High School and of Strayer Business College. She had been a sewing instructor. She supported numerous animal foundations. She enjoyed horseback riding, sewing, flowers, gardening and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter and son-in-law Deborah C. and Larry E. Trump of Glyndon; a brother, Robert Somers of Catonsville; a step-granddaughter, Rachael Marie Trump; and three nephews.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Carrick.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 203 E. Chatsworth Ave., Reisterstown, with the Revs. David Stenner and Frederick J. Hanna officiating. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
