Joanne Clurman (nee Beeker), age 64, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. Beloved mother of Anthony Clurman and wife Suzanne, Michael Clurman and wife Susan and Jason Clurman and wife Cade. Sister of Mary Barbara Weyandt, Nancy M. Brockmeyer, Jane Frances Daw, Patricia Ruth Sachs, Paul Gerard Beeker and Jennifer Jean Nilsen. Grandmother of Cody, Bailey, Josephine, Ryan and Carter with a 6th grandchild expected in the next two weeks, her dog Oliver and other extended family members.
Joanne was a breast cancer survivor who made pink-and-white quilts for others diagnosed with breast cancer. She believed the quilts gave those in treatment hope and encouragement to survive.
Her own heroic journey was made into a quilt named "Secret Tears" that hangs in the Breast Center at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. Throughout the years, her love for quilt making reached out to many others that were going through cancer.
A gathering will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Saturday July 19, 2014 from 10:00 until 1:00 pm. with prayers at 11:00am. Interment in Parkwood Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
