John Eugene Popp, 82, and Mary Ora Popp, 73, of Manchester, Md., passed away suddenly after 46 years of loving marriage.
John was born on December 29, 1940, in Baltimore, Md. He was the son of the late Gertrude Uebel. John worked for nearly 60 years as a machinist for Ridge Engineering.
Mary was born on August 23, 1950, in Lansdowne, Md. She was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Maguire Buckingham. She served in the U.S. Army Reserves before starting a family. Mary later worked in insurance and was a beloved homemaker.
Surviving John and Mary are son John Jeffrey Popp and wife Michelle, daughter Karen Popp Becker and husband David, daughter Mary Beth Hess and husband Ryan, and daughter-in-law Gina Popp; as well as grandchildren Ashlee, Britnee, Ryan, Katie, Maggie, and Lauren; and great-grandchildren. They are predeceased by son Kevin Eugene Popp.
John is also survived by sister Carol, and is predeceased by sister Linda. Mary is also survived by brothers Jim, Phil, and Don.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 26, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, Md., with luncheon to follow at the church.
