John Thomas Gonzales

John Thomas Gonzales, 53, of Edgewater, MD passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his home. Born in December in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Nick Gonzales, Jr. and Hazel M. (Small) Gonzales.

John was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He was an enterprising, intelligent entrepreneur who was founder, president, and CEO of his successful IT software development company for the last 23 years. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his plane, hiking, camping, boating, and riding his dirt bike and motorcycle. John was also an international desert truck racing champion. He lived life to the fullest, experiencing countless adventures and brightening the lives of those who knew him. But he will be most revered for being an awesome dad, brother, and friend.

Surviving him are his children: Jason Gonzales and Kaitlynn Elizabeth Gonzales; siblings: Mark Studness and wife Erica of Denver, CO, Edward Gonzales and wife Susan of Hanover, PA, and Catherine Best and husband Michael of Hampstead, MD; and former spouse: Marcy Gonzales of Bowie, MD. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
