John Joseph Griffin, 71, of Glyndon died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Nov. 28, 1936, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Marie Anne Potthast Griffin. He was the husband of Margaret Mary Knauer Griffin, his wife of 47 years.
He was a retired plant engineer for Coca Cola, U.S.A. and had served in the Air National Guard.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed bird watching, fishing and gardening.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Margaret Ann Griffin of Catonsville, John Patrick Griffin of Eldersburg, Suzanne Patricia Griffin of Silver Spring and Meghan Ann Griffin Kennedy of Chesterfield, S.C.; a niece, Margaret Kathleen Jenkins of Kingsville; sister-in-law Kathleen Mary Knauer of Tampa, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, with the Rev. Silvester Kim officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Dundalk.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
