John (Jack) Howard Beyer, 90, passed peacefully Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 at the Brinton Woods Health Care Center in Winfield, MD. Born Dec. 9, 1928 in Mt. Washington, MD, he was the son of the late Herbert George and Margaret Gorsuch Beyer.
Surviving him are his wife of 68 years, Gloria Ditzel Beyer. Sister: Betty Saffell. Sons: James (Jim) Beyer and wife Jane of Upperco, MD; Michael Beyer of Versailles, KY; and Kevin Beyer and wife Tricia of Fountain Hills, Arizona. Grandchildren: Joshua and wife Ashley of Hampstead, MD; Matthew and partner Jan Claussen of Nashville, TN; and Taylor of Fountain Hills, AZ. Great granddaughter: Josephine of Joshua and Ashley.
He was predeceased by a grandson: Joshua James Beyer.
Jack worked as an engineer, salesperson, and finally inherited his father's flavoring business. He enjoyed designing projects such as jewelry boxes, custom bird cages, and many others.
He was an active member for 15 years of the Reisterstown Moose Lodge #1577.
A celebration of life will be held at the Reisterstown Moose Lodge on February 2, 2019 from 1 to 4PM.
