John Edward Kalkbrenner

John Edward Kalkbrenner, 75, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born on February 23, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late John Leo and Mary Greer Kalkbrenner. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Jean Kalkbrenner for 52 years.

John worked for many years as a microfilm processor for Eastman Kodak. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country faithfully. He was a member of the Hanover Eagles Aerie 1406. John enjoyed his pets and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Stephanie Kalkbrenner and fiancé Ken Eiker, Patricia Fribush and husband Andy, John Kalkbrenner and wife Sheila, Mariann Davis and former husband Eric, and Edward Kalkbrenner, grandchildren: Stephanie Miachle and husband Joe, Steven Harris and fiancée Trish Reaver, Christopher Kalkbrenner and wife Lauren, Ryan Pittinger, Moira Fribush, Cheyenne Smith and husband Robert, John Kalkbrenner, Isaiah Kalkbrenner, and Hannah Davis, great grandchildren: Landon, Brooklyn, Lena, and Payton.

He was predeceased by a brother: Edward Kalkbrenner, and a son in law: Donald Reed, Sr.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 14, from 6-8 pm, and on Friday, June 15, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD. Interment to follow in St. David's Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
