John Edwin Neeb, 85, of Hampstead died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Dove House in Westminster.
Born June 29, 1927 in Woodlawn, he was the son of the late George Edwin Neeb and Viola Eliason Neeb. He was the husband of Charlotte Bennett Neeb, his wife of 60 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy stationed in Pearl Harbor. He was a Cable Maintenance Supervisor for C&P Telephone and Bell Atlantic from where he retired after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Randallstown Optimist Club, where he coached football. He was an avid Baltimore Colts fan. He enjoyed growing vegetables and playing golf.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Paul Neeb and wife Freda of Owings Mills, Barbara Shreeve and husband Rob of Manchester, Andrew Neeb and wife Karen of Pikesville, Dianne Eff and husband Greg of Catonsville, and Laura Valente and husband John of Hampstead; and his 8 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister Mildred Cursey and his infant son.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday.
Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dove House 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
