John Louis Plaine, 59, of Manchester died Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Dove House in Westminster.

Born June 23, 1950 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Charles Plaine and Nellie Robertson Plaine. He was the husband of Joy Ann Garland Plaine, his wife of 19years.

Mr. Plaine had worked for Shelter Systems and Gray and Sons. He enjoyed playing his guitar in his spare time.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons and daughter in law James and Elizabeth Plaine of Frederick, Jody Plaine and his Fiancée Kim Webb of Westminster; his daughter Kara Plaine of Manchester; his sisters and brothers in law Mary and Adam Klein of Taneytown, Beverly Nadine Plaine, Edith And Roger Fowble, and Robin and Frank Wagner all of Westminster, and Linda and Delbert Fleagle of Waynesboro, PA; his brothers in law Dennis Garland of Fruita, CO, Craig Garland of Taneytown, Lee Garland of Round Hill, VA, and Karl Garland of Lusby; his sisters in law Valerie Shade of Lineboro and Melissa Keener of Madison and all their families; and his 3 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Baker and his brothers Danny, Ben, and Noah Plaine.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Kirkridge Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., P.O. Box 389, Manchester, MD 21102.
