John Carl Werner age 70 of Manchester, MD died Wednesday Sept. 5, 2012 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.
Born March 12, 1942 in Baltimore County, MD he was the son of the late John Carroll Werner and Margaret Plumhoff Werner.
He was the loving husband of almost 50 years to Grace Ann Baker Werner.
He was a 25-year veteran of the Baltimore County Police Dept and retired with the rank of Detective Sergeant. He then worked for the Seminole County Florida Sheriffs Dept. as a Field Service Officer for 17 years. He was also a member of the Florida Masonic Lodge, Oviedo, FL.
Surviving in addition to his wife are devoted sons: Scott Werner of Apopka, FL, Kevin Werner and much loved daughter-in-law, Barbara Werner of Hampstead, MD, brothers; William Werner of Abingdon, Glenn Werner of Rosedale, MD, and Joseph Werner of Parkville, MD. He was grandfather to his special pals Liam and Sean Werner of Hampstead, MD.
A memorial service will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at 2:00pm. with the Rev. David Bare officiating.
Interment will be private.
