Joseph Nimrod Battle, Jr.

Joseph Nimrod Battle, Jr., 83, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on May 18, 2018, in Randallstown, MD. Born on January 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph Nimrod, Sr., and Gertrude Elizabeth Horsey Battle.

Joseph was a truck driver for J&J Trash Removal for many years.  He enjoyed watching Western movies, Ravens football games, and loved spending time with his family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and received a Good Conduct Medal for his service.

Surviving him are children: Joseph N. Battle, III, Kimberly Parson and husband Kyle, and Timothy A. Battle and wife Kimaada, grandchildren: Taylor, Jamiya, Camille, Jason, Mackenzie, and Timothy, Jr., and siblings: Gloria Williams, Medessa Brown, and Daisy M. Bryant.

He was predeceased by siblings: Gerald, Bobby, Herbert, Harvey, and Ann Tibbs.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 23, from 5-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117 and from 10:30 - 11 am on Thursday, May 24, at Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 235 S. Tollgate Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am.

Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, on Wednesday, May 30, at 10:45 am.
