Joseph John DiPietro, 78, of Hampstead died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born June 10, 1934 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Jack DiPietro and Marian Salamone DiPietro. He was the husband of Eleanore Ann "Ellie" DiPietro, his wife of 56 years.
He was the Director of Plant Operations for Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Manchester.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons John DiPietro of Baltimore, Joseph DiPietro and fiancée Teresa Ferguson of Finksburg, Christopher DiPietro and wife Linda of Hampstead, and Mark DiPietro and wife Stephanie of Littlestown, PA; his 14 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Victor Joseph DiPietro and his brothers Paul and Vince DiPietro.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with a Requiem Mass celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with the Rev. Fr. Michael Roach as celebrant.
Interment will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
