Joseph Eugene Tracey age 84 of Upperco, MD died Saturday November 22, 2014 at his home. Born November 10, 1930 in Butler, MD he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace Elizabeth Gent Tracey. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Z. Brown Tracey who died in 2007.
He and his wife were owners and operators of the Dorothy Z. Tracey Sportswear. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, being with his family and had a great sense of humor. Years ago he built several homes in the area.
He is survived by his daughters, Jo-Ann Tracey of Glyndon, MD and Barbara Beal and husband Joseph of Upperco, MD. Brothers, Bruce Tracey of Reisterstown, MD and Robert "Bob" Tracey of Westminster, MD and a granddaughter, Gracie Beal.
He was predeceased by son in law, Arthur Levi and siblings, Doris Flanagan, John, Ross, Dave and Bill Tracey.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD on Wednesday at 10:00 am. with the Rev. Dick Harden officiating.
Interment will be in Black Rock Cemetery, Butler, MD.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. at the funeral chapel.
