Joseph “Joe” Gabriszeski, Jr.

Joseph "Joe" Gabriszeski, Jr., 69, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.  Born on August 13, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Gabriszeski, Sr. and Lucille Sasser Gabriszeski.  He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Donna Marie Vojik Gabriszeski.

Joe worked at Baltimore Gas and Electric for over 40 years, working his way up from the mailroom to becoming an engineering analyst. Joe was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with the family dogs; Summer, Winter, and Sadie. A 6th degree black belt, he was passionate about the martial arts and taught Taekwondo for many years. He was also an adventurous cook, including using vegetables from their gardens.

A completely self taught drummer, he absolutely loved music. He enjoyed performing and was not only a drummer, but also a singer in multiple bands over the years. Many were with his wife, Donna. Joe more than anything loved his wife and children. He was never too busy to make time for his kids whether it was playing games, watching movies, or giving them a shoulder to cry on. Ever a jokester, he loved to laugh. Have you heard the one about the Christmas crabs?

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Rachel Gabriszeski, Jacob Gabriszeski and wife Danielle, and sisters: Donna O'Berry and husband Dan, and Diana Corbin.

Joe was predeceased by his brother: Michael Gabriszeski.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 23, from 1-3 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, with an open memorial service to begin at 3 pm. Reception to be held following service.
