Joseph "Chip" Kirincic Jones, 62, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Clarke Holzshu Kirincic Jones, his father Captain Joseph Kirincic, USMC, and his stepfather Richard H. Jones.
Born on August 1, 1955 in Baltimore, MD, Chip is survived by his two children: Jeffrey Richard Jones (Jenny) and Kara Louise Kirincic Jones, his two brothers: Daniel K. (Mary) and James T. "Jay" Jones, and three nieces.
While he was dedicated to his career as IT Specialist, his heart was always with his family: from trouble making with his brothers to helping care for his mother in her later years. His love for his children knew no boundaries. Taking the role of father, mother, and friend to his children in recent years, he worked hard to make holidays and day-to-day events special for them. He guided them into becoming hard-working, kind, and family-oriented adults, of whom he was immensely proud to leave as his legacy.
Chip, highly intelligent with a witty sense of humor, enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, scuba diving, and day drinking, as well as time spent with his partner-in-crime, Kobie the dog. He was a devoted friend of many years to Alan Mlinarchik and loving partner to Ruth Smith.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 7, at 1 pm at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E Padonia Rd, Timonium, MD 21093 .
Arrangements are by ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Manchester, MD.
