Joseph "Joe" Mathias Hodges, Sr.

Joseph "Joe" Mathias Hodges, Sr., 76, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed away at Hanover Hospital on April 20, 2021.  Born on January 30, 1945 in Baltimore City, Maryland, he was the son to the late Earl and Madeline Appel.

Joe was a retired Press Operator for Port City Press in Pikesville, Maryland.  He was a collector and was fond of collecting unique items, including trains and coins.  He enjoyed bowling and always cherished spending time with his family.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children: Joseph M. Hodges, Jr. and significant other Sue of Westminster, MD, Steven M. Hodges and wife Sherri of Hanover, PA, and Robert M. Hodges and wife Christine of Forrest Hill, MD, grandchildren: Nicholas and wife Lynn, Kaitlyn Winner, Robert, and Kathryn, and siblings: Julius Hodges of Glen Burnie, MD and Geraldine George of Glen Burnie, MD.

Joe was predeceased by siblings: Betty Grover, Clara Preston, Roberta Mancuso, Rosalie Hodges, George Hodges, and Charles Hodges.

Family will receive visitors on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 12 to 2 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.  A graveside service will follow at 2:45pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048.  Interment to follow at the cemetery.
