Joseph Wallace Weir, Jr., 69, of Westminster died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 24, 1943 in Baltimore, he was the son Dorothy Hartle Weir of Finksburg and the late Joseph Wallace Weir, Sr.

He was the husband of Jacqueline Marie Panza Weir, his wife of 47 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a materials manager for Hittman Materials and Medical Components. In his spare time he was a member of Post 31 of the Sons of the America Legion and the Westminster Moose. He was a former member of the Reisterstown Moose. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children J. Christopher Weir and wife Daniela Petrosino Weir of Bel Air, John C. Weir and wife Erin Dunn Weir of Taneytown, and Juliane Weir Kellar and husband Nicholas of Westminster; a sister Darlene Weir Cordy and husband William; his grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Kristen, Braden, and Avery.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Lauren Weir.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon with celebrant Msgr. Lloyd Aiken officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908 Eldersburg, MD 21784 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P.O. Box 3672, Glyndon, MD 21071.
