Josephine Frances Hines

Josephine Frances Hines, 89, of Upperco, MD, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at BridgingLife, Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on April 26, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Martha Andryszak-Jarkowiec. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon Hines, who passed away in 1984.

Josephine worked her whole life as the office manager for the Jesuit Mission Bureau in Baltimore City. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her.

Surviving her are nieces and nephew: John Jarkowiec, Jr., Cindy Knies, Chris Feehan, and Kathleen Bowen. She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews, whom she adored and they adored her back.

Josephine was predeceased by her brother: John M. Jarkowiec, Sr. and his wife Patricia Jarkowiec.

Josephine loved to crochet, doing needle work and selling whatever she made at craft shows.   She had a love-hate relationship with yardwork that she performed all 89 years of her life.  She split wood and diligently tended the wood stove.  She loved to polka and that is how she met her husband.  She cheered on the Baltimore Colts, Ravens, Notre Dame Football teams. She loved watching game shows like Family Feud and Jeopardy as part of her evening routine. Loved going to the beach, Wildwood, NJ and Ocean City, MD, with girlfriends when she was young and brother in their later years. She always loved her crabs and Coors lite but would never turn down a gin and tonic.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 4, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Reisterstown, MD  21136.

Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery, Reisterstown, MD.
