Joshua "Ed" Everette Hale, 88, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, surrounded by family at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on September 6, 1934, in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late Joshua Mitchell Hale and Elsie Elizabeth Spicer Hale. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Lou Hale, who passed away on January 19, 2022.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Army. Years ago, he was an engineer with Catalyst Research, he also did carpentry work with DeGarmo Construction. He was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Hampstead.
Surviving him is a son: Heath D. Hale and Michelle of Hanover, PA, grandson: Travis J. Hale of Baltimore, MD, and siblings: John Hale of Manchester, MD and Ester Hale of Arcadia, MD.
Ed was predeceased by his siblings: Marvin Hale, Roland Hale, Leon Hale, Carrie Wagner, Charles Hale, Jenette Millender, Sidney Hale, LeRoy Hale, and Irene Krebs.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 10 from 9 am until the start of the funeral service at 11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.
Interment to follow in Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
