Joy Marie Loewner

Joy Marie Loewner, 83, of Middle River, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center at Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born on December 30, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Leo John and Edna May Bell Finnegan. She was the beloved wife of Lorstan Louis Loewner, for 35 years.

Joy was an avid storyteller, and she made friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed traveling in the United States and taking yearly vacations in Cancun, Mexico. She retired from CCBC Essex after 26 years of working in the Administrative Office, where she handled US Veterans GI Bills and International Student Visas. Joy was a member of the Charles Evering VFW Auxiliary Post 6506.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are children: Michael L. Dean and wife Eula, Mark T. Dean and wife Janet, Eva M. Sauer, the late Paige E. Loewner, Dayne L. Loewner and wife Diane, and Laryn S. Rollhauser and husband David, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a twin sister: Catherine L. Hauf and significant other Don.

She was predeceased by her sister: Betty Gardner, and brothers-in-law: Ed Gardner and Don Hauf.

The family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering on Tuesday, August 13, from 3-6 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm.
