Joyce Katherine Turner, 56, of Hanover, PA formerly of Manchester died December 31, 2013 at York Hospital in York, PA.
Born March 31, 1957 in Harford County, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Walter, Sr. and Shirley Richardson Walter. She was the wife of Kenneth James Turner, her husband of 30 years.
She was a Fiscal Assistant with the Baltimore County Board of Education since 1988. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, reading her kindle, and spending time with her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Missi Turner-Groft and husband Andy, Michael Turner, Brian Turner, James Turner and wife Pam, Stephanie Litmer and husband Larry, Christina Simpson and husband Matt, and Stephen Turner and wife Jessica; her siblings James Walter, Jr., David Walter, Sr., Jacob Walter, Sr., and Wanda Walter Leehugh; her 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her 9 nieces and nephews; and 6 great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from Noon Saturday until time of funeral service, 1 p.m. at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with the Rev. Dr. Melissa Rudolph officiating.
Interment will be in Greenmount United Methodist Church Cemetery, Greenmount.
