Julia Kathryn Berwager, 99 of Manchester, MD passed peacefully Saturday Jan. 13, 2018 at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Westminster, MD. Born April 5, 1918 in Manchester she was the daughter of the late Emory A. and Myrtle C. Buchman Berwager.
Julia was a retired teacher for the Baltimore and Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Years ago, she was involved in the Carroll County Farm Museum, Carroll Hospital Center, Carroll County Historical Society, Manchester Historical Center, Rec. Council and the Manchester Nature Center. She was recognized by the Lineboro Manchester Lions Club with the Citizenship Award. She was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester.
She is survived by her sister; Mary B. Lord of Severna Park, MD. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother; Richard E. Berwager.
The family will receive friends on Friday Jan. 19, 2018 from 12-3pm. at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester, MD. and also Saturday Jan. 20 from 10-11am. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St., Manchester, MD. 21102. Funeral services to follow at 11:00am. with the Rev. Charles Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
