Kathleen M. "Kathy" Troyer, 80, of Owings Mills, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at home after a long illness.
Born Nov. 2, 1927, in Finksburg, she was the daughter of the late William McKee and Ella Mary Johnson Hastings. She was the wife of Donald A. Troyer, her husband of 59 years, who died in 2006.
She was a graduate of Hampstead High School, class of 1945, and was an active member of the Carroll's-Gill's United Methodist Church in Lutherville.
She enjoyed gardening, caring for her plants and flowers and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed spending time with her dog Missy.
Surviving are a son, David W. Troyer of Owings Mills; daughter and son-in-law Donna L. and Randy Oliver of Fairfield, Pa.; a sister, Betty Long of Westminster; brothers Paul and Tom Hastings, both of Reisterstown; grandchildren Justin Oliver and Whitney Troyer; and a great-grandchild, Cameron Shelly.
She was predeceased by a son, Glen Troyer; and siblings Hazel, Glen, Robert, Bill and Harry Hastings and Evelyn Harmon.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. David Roberts officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
