Kay Ellen Engman

Kay Ellen Engman, 68, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 due to complications from Parkinson's disease.

Kay wished for a private memorial. There will be no service or visitation.

Kay was born and raised in Manchester, MD, by her parents, Glendora and Walt Engman. Kay graduated from North Carroll high school in 1972 and earned a BA from the Maryland Institute of Art in 1976. She had a successful career as a publication designer at Remodeling magazine and Science magazine in Washington, DC. She was a talented designer with a meticulous work ethic.

Kay lived a few years in the Philippines and eventually made her home in Takoma Park, MD. She had a flair for decorating and landscaping her home. Kay was a vibrant person with many interests. She enjoyed dancing to big band music and going to movies. She traveled abroad and toured many US national parks. Kay did genealogy research and visited cousins in Sweden after she traced her roots. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester. She was a loyal friend to many, and was always a kind and thoughtful person.

Kay is survived by her sisters, Marcena Walker and Jan Engman, a niece and nephew, several cousins, and many friends.
