Kenneth Wayne Garrett, 68, of Lineboro, MD, passed away suddenly after an extended illness on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his home. Born on May 14, 1958, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Wilbur Edgar Garrett, Sr. and Mary Carroll (Cofiel) Garrett.

As a youth, Kenny attended church, watched over his younger sisters and brothers, and worked in the family lawn and landscape business. He graduated from Franklin Senior High School in 1977.

Ken worked as a custodian in the Baltimore County School District for over 40 years. He retired at 55, but continued to run his own lawncare business. He enjoyed camping, hiking, outdoor activities, gardening, bluegrass and country music, and helping others wherever he could. As a born-again believer, Ken always believed that helping and caring for others was his highest calling.

Surviving him are his siblings: Susan Rasch of Lineboro, MD, Glenn Garrett of St. Augustine, FL, David Garrett of Spring Grove, PA, Sharon Patricia Garrett of Timonium, MD, Mary Funk of Denver, CO, and Mike McKenzie of Sykesville, MD.

He was predeceased by his brother: Wilbur Garrett, Jr.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 18, from 10-11 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Black Rock Church Cemetery, Butler, MD.

A picnic luncheon will follow on the church grounds.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.

Arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Manchester, MD.
