Kenneth Chauncey Goodman, Sr. died peacefully on January 19, 2023, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by loving wife Janet.
Born in Baltimore on June 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Catherine (Childs) Goodman. Ken was an avid softball player in his younger day. He worked in the retail management field throughout his life, retiring from Caldor in Westminster, Maryland. Ken was previously married to the late Dolores Kilduff for 15 years, which resulted in 4 children. While both went on to remarry, they remained in touch throughout their lives. He was then married to the late Brenda Phillips (Thwaite) for over 25 years which resulted in three stepsons who he loved as his own. Kenneth was always proud of his large, blended family. After Brenda's death, he met Janet and they were together until her passing in 2020.
Ken is survived by seven children and their spouses, Dolores (William) Simmons, Terri Goodman, Kenneth (Carla) Goodman, Jr., John (Judith) Goodman, Edward Phillips, William (Kerri) Phillips, and Steven (Frank) Phillips. He was a loving grandfather to Roy, Beth, Robert, Matthew, Melissa, Bernie, Breanna, Michael, Tyler, Hannah, and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Haines.
Ken always enjoyed bingo, softball, gardening, bus trips, horse racing and trips to the local casinos. His favorite times were family gatherings. The more people there the happier he was. He was always the troublemaker at events and would do anything to make sure other people were having fun.
