Kenneth Eugene Smith, 82, of Hampstead died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Greenmount on June 18, 1927, he was the son of the late William Smith and Martha Lohmeyer Smith. He was the husband of Patricia Anne "Annie" Williams Smith, his wife of 42 years, who died on Saturday, May 31, 2003.
He was a carpenter for Ed Rhode Home Improvement.
In his spare time he enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and playing cards. He loved to feed the squirrels and birds around his home.
Surviving are his children and spouses Sharon Smith, Dixie Blalock, Donna and Brian Miller, Michael Smith, Elizabeth and Shanne Miller, Susan and Scott Hancock, and Kenni and Kevin Heffner; his grandchildren Brian, Jr., Dylon, Brandi, Eric, Kenny, Emily, Sarah, Rachel, Jessica, Tyler, Kasey, Emily, Cory, Holly, Richard, David, Nicole, and Matthew; his great grandchildren Stephanie, Brittany, Braxton, Evan and Ethan; his siblings Betty Dell, Catherine Rupp, Nancy Roheback, Nelson Smith, and Howard Smith.
He was predeceased by his son in law Neil Smith and his sisters Helen Parks and Ruth Ann Steger.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Earl Gray, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
