Kenneth Richard Strevig, 74, of Finksburg, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on March 18, 1944 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond Lamar Strevig, Sr. and Helen Marie Bitzel Strevig. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lee Wesley Strevig.
Ken was the owner and operator of Reisterstown Auto Parts for 50 years. He also owned Strevig Bus Company. He was a member of the Manchester Hunting Club, the Carroll County School Bus Contractors Association, and the Maryland State School Bus Contractors Association. Ken was also a Maryland Mason. He enjoyed hunting, race cars, working, farming, and driving his bus.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Richard Strevig of Hanover, PA, Brett Strevig of Hampstead, MD, Lee Holtz, and June Thompson, both of Hanover, PA, and Kathy Tillmann of Westminster, MD, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his dog: Chloe, a sister-in-law: Josephine Strevig of Manchester, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother: Raymond Lamar Strevig, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 14, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 10 am. Interment to follow in Lineboro, Cemetery, Lineboro, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157 or the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
