Lavere Vernon Jones, age 72 of Westminster, MD died suddenly Friday July 17, 2015.
Born February 18, 1943 in Westminster, MD, he was the son of the late Vernon Charles and Eva Margaret Bankert Jones. He was the husband of 51 years to Donna June Miller Jones.
Lavere and his wife were the owners and operators of Lavere Jones Bus Service for over 42 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Westminster High School and a member of Bixlers United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming the family farm, collecting antique cars and tractors. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, JoAnn Jones of Westminster, MD, David Jones and wife Kristina of Shrewsbury, PA, and Angela Eckhardt and husband Garth of Manchester, MD, grandchildren, Brenna, Braden, Briley, Ashton and Tanner.
Funeral services will be held at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 10:00am. with the Rev. Dr. Art Thomas officiating.
Interment will be in John Luther Miller Cemetery, Westminster, MD.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and on Thursday from 9am. until time of service at the funeral home.
