Leroy George Kohls age 80 of Hampstead, MD. died Monday Nov. 21, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.
Born July 24, 1931 in Baltimore, MD. he was the son of the late Henry Edward and Catherine Prietz Kohls. He was the husband of Janet Hesson Kohls his wife of 55 years.
He had worked as a parts inspector for Black & Decker for 28 years. He was a Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Hampstead American Legion Post 200. He was also a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Hampstead, MD. and volunteered at the Hampstead NESAP.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Brenda Lee Medlock and husband Philip of Hanover, PA. and James Andrew Kohls and wife Heidi of Littlestown, PA. Grandchildren: Ginger, Lauren, David, Megan Madison and Logan. Great grandchildren: Bryar and Landon.
He was predeceased by siblings: Ruth Faulkner, Lillian Gutredge and Florence Jones.
The family will receive friends at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00am.
Interment will be in Greenmount Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NESAP, 1046 S. Carroll St., Hampstead, MD. 21074.
