Leslie "Les" Richard McGrew, 82, of Manchester, MD, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 17, 2024, at his home. Born on December 17, 1941, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Richard Paul McGrew and Hilda Pearl Trout McGrew. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Susan Irene Bowen McGrew.
Les was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as an engineer for 30 years for C&P Telephone and Bell Atlantic. He was an avid model railroader, stamp collector, and built motorized model planes and boats. Les loved traveling in his RV; he visited many National Parks throughout the country, and even drove to Alaska with his wife, Susan. He loved family trips to Disney World, going on cruises, and wintering in Florida during retirement years.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Bonnie McGrew and husband Trevor Shand, Todd McGrew and wife Cynthia Class-McGrew, and grandchildren: Emma Beadle, Thomas McGrew, Benjamin McGrew, and brother: Roger Dean McGrew.
Les was predeceased by his brother: Eugene Paul McGrew.
Funeral services and interment are private.
