Linda Marie Ellis Walker

Linda Marie Ellis Walker, 81, of Hanover, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at UPMC Hanover. Born on January 19, 1943, in Carterville, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Byron and Lillian Margaret Hughes Ellis. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Arthur Walker, who passed away in 2014.

Linda loved spending time with her family, especially playing card games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for making the best cornbread. The recipe has been passed down, but it will never quite be the same as Mammaw's. Linda loved her family dearly, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are daughters: Joanne Cowan and husband Jerry of Spring Grove, PA, Elaine Caler of Hanover, PA, and Judy Yarger and husband Ronnie of Hanover, PA, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, siblings: Catherine Scheuch, Virginia Evans, and Murphy Ellis and wife Jeannette, a sister-in-law: Linda Ellis, many nieces and nephews, and her dog who was her best friend: Sadie.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter: Tina Marie Jacoby, and a brother: James David Ellis.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
