Lloyd Asberry Lyons, 65, of Manchester, died Sunday May 9, 2010 at his residence.
Born on October 7, 1944 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Lawrence Asberry Lyons and Printie Bell Quesenberry Lyons. He was the husband of Rachel I. Bull Lyons, his wife of 46 years.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the Hampstead American Legion, Post 200.
Before retiring in 2009, he was a carpenter and construction worker who took great pride in his work.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son and daughter in law Lee and Dawn Lyons of Westminster; his grandchildren Becky Lyons of Leesburg, VA and Nicky Lyons of Westminster; his sisters Jackie Neal of Marylandline, Virginia Harrell of Manchester, Sandy Sheilds of Baltimore, Vada DePalmer of Wrightsville, PA; his brother Kenneth Lyons of Westminster; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Verna Watson and Ann Yarger.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with Chaplain Judy Strayer officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
