Lois Mae Neumann

Lois Mae (Miller) Neumann, 96, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Manchester, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, PA.  Born on July 9, 1928, in Millers, MD, she was the daughter of the late H. Walter Miller and Ella Florence (Lippy) Miller. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Joseph Neumann, who passed away in 2007.

Lois was a lifelong member of Millers United Methodist Church, Manchester, MD. She enjoyed bingo, shopping, ceramics, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving her are her children: Gary Stem and Pam of Michigan, Rodney Stem and Nancy of North Carolina, Douglas Wark and Peg Custer of Hanover, PA, Cathy (Wark) Wildasin and Mark of Hanover, PA, Linda (Neumann) Burns and Shawn Auriemma of New Oxford, PA, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was predeceased by her daughter: Constance Jean Wark, and 10 siblings: Evelyn Jeannette Nott, George Henry Miller, Charles Ivan Miller, Herbert Eugene Miller, Helen Dickens, Ethel Detter, Walter Miller, Jr., Pauline Roth, Louella Sanders, and Ruthetta Redding.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Lois will be held at 12 noon, Monday, March 31, at Millers UMC, 3435 Warehime Road, Manchester, MD, with Pastor Jerry Gautcher officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitations and time to share memories will be held from 2-5 pm, Sunday, March 30, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, and from 11-12 pm on Monday, March 31, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lois may be made to The Good Samaritan Fund, The Brethren Home Foundation, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
