Louis Franklin Loughry, Sr.

Louis "Lou" Franklin Loughry, Sr., 84, of Manchester, MD, passed peacefully Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Columbia Cottage Assisted Living in Hanover, PA. Born August 1, 1933 in Gormania, WV, he was the son of the late Otis Floyd and Toy George Loughry. He was the husband of the late Edna Mae (Delawder) Loughry who died in 1990.

Louis was retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 200. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool.

Surviving are children: Louis F. Loughry, Jr. and wife Judy of Alabama, Sandra Mae Green and husband Gary of Taneytown, MD, June Alison Bitzel and husband Tim of Westminster, MD, and Glenda Lee Woerner and husband Doug of Orrtanna, PA, siblings: Dollie McCarraher, Sarah Mott, Betty Mask, Barbara Loughry, Harry, Russell, Otis, Walter "Bo" and Kenneth Loughry. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother: James Loughry and grandson: Andrew Bosley.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, 21102 on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9pm, where a funeral will be held on Monday March 19, 2018 at 11 am. Interment to follow in Manchester Baptist Church Cemetery.
