Louise Ellen Shower, 87, of Hampstead died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born on July 30, 1922 in Carroll Co. Maryland, she was the daughter of the late David Leonard Hossler and Florence Yingling Hossler. She was the wife of the late George Robert Shower, Sr., her husband of 56 years, who died in 1996.
She was a seamstress in different Sewing Factories. She was a member of the Pretty Boy Hunt Club, where she was in charge of preparing all the food for the horse shows and fox hunts.
In addition, she was a member of the Hampstead American Legion and Trinity U.C.C. She enjoyed having a good time and being with her grandchildren, her friends, and her dogs and cats.
Surviving are her sons and daughter in law George R. "Bob", Jr. and Gerda Shower of Anchorage, AK, and Donald L. Shower of Hampstead; her daughter Nancy L. Koerner of Hampstead; her 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son David R. Shower.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel with Rev. Scott Sager officiating.
Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery.
