Mamie Elmira Fridinger Bisker Koontz, 99, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Golden Crest in Westminster, MD. Born on August 19, 1921, in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Albert and Mamie E. Therit Fridinger. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul C. Koontz, who passed away in 2013.
Mamie worked at the machine shop for Black and Decker. She was a member of The American Legion, the Senior Center in Greenmount, MD, and she was a lifetime member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Mamie enjoyed bowling, gardening, and dancing with her husband. She loved to sing and play instruments with her siblings.
Surviving her are children: William Bisker of Shrewsbury, PA, Joan Mitchell of North Carolina, Karen Kibler of Manchester, MD, Deborah DePalmer of Glen Rock, PA, and Jackie Leister of Westminster, MD, stepchildren: Keith Koontz, Paul Koontz, Jr., Brenda Seitz, Diane Wilder, Patricia Yingling, and Susan Potts, grandchildren: Kelly, Jamie, Kory, Shane, Brandy, Aaron, Matthew, and Olivia, and numerous stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mamie was predeceased by 11 siblings.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 10, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11 at 10 am, with Pastor David Schafer officiating. If you have not been vaccinated we ask that you please wear a face mask.
Interment to follow in John Luther Miller Cemetery in Westminster, MD.
