Margaret “Peggy” D. Fernandez

Margaret "Peggy" D. Fernandez, 101, of Hanover, PA, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Pappus House in York, PA.  Born on November 29, 1920, in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Benjamin Dayton and Margaret Sauer Dayton.

Peggy worked as Federal Government Clerk for the Social Security Administration.  She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, collecting dolls, cross stitching, crocheting, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Margaret "Penny" Ludwig and husband Kenneth of Manchester, Fern Brooks and husband Tony of Easton, MD, son-in-law: Lester M. Douts of Washington Boro, PA, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Peggy was predeceased by her daughter: Lindajo Douts, and siblings: George Dayton, David Dayton, Eugene Dayton, Willie Dayton, and Helen Azarenok.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 14, from 10 am – 12 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, Maryland 21102, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm.

Interment to follow in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
