Margaret Ellen Hartson, 88, of Westminster formerly of Woodlawn died Monday, October 31, 2011 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born November 6, 1922 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James Somers Keating and Naomi Elizabeth Colehouse Keating. She was the wife of the late Edward Yale Hartson, her husband of 57 years, who died November 25, 2001.
She was a homemaker and years ago she had work for Montgomery Wards.
She was a member of Women's Club of Woodlawn and election judge. She loved gardening, flowers, art, murder mysteries, history, movies, and discussing politics. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Robert E. and Helen P. Hartson of Hanover, PA and James Craig and Carol H. Hartson of Westminster; her grandchildren Rob, Jenn and her husband Chris, and Kim; her sister Naomi Jean Keating; her sister-in-law Betty Flohr; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Sterling F. Flohr and Merritt O. Hartson; her sister-in-law Doris Hartson; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Merritt and Miranda Hartson.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dick Harden officiating.
Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn.
