Margaret Mary Knauer Griffin, 75, of Glyndon died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
Born May 1, 1938 in Dundalk, she was the daughter of the John Knauer and Margaret Maurer Knauer.
She was the wife of John Joseph Griffin, her husband of 47 years, who died in 2007.
She was Director of Nursing, Villa Assumpta, The School Sisters of Notre Dame. She lived her life with conviction and commitment quietly setting an example for others.
Surviving are her children Margaret Van Kleeck and husband Skip, John Griffin and wife Kelly, Suzanne Griffin and husband Lee Kahler, and Meghan Kennedy and husband Jim; her sister Kathy Knauer; her niece Margaret Jenkins and husband Ralph; her nephew Michael Callaway and wife Debra; her aunt Kathryn Maurer; her nine grandchildren; and her numerous friends.
The family will receive friends 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65
Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dundalk.
