Margaret "Peggy" Rose Gleeson Fishpaugh March 11, 1937 – August 3, 2025
Margaret "Peggy" Rose Gleeson Fishpaugh, 88, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at Brightview in Columbia. She was born in Edina, Minnesota on March 11, 1937. Peggy moved to Maryland at the age of fourteen, where she built a beautiful life full of family, love, and enduring memories.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Fishpaugh. Peggy's legacy continues through her children Jeff (Kathy R.), Kathy (Brad), and Brian (Dash); her five grandchildren Rob (Jenny), Patrick (Melissa), Kristy (Eric), Nathan, and Andrew; and eleven cherished great-grandchildren. Her devotion to family was unwavering—her home was always a haven of warmth, joy, and the unforgettable aroma of her famous crab dip.
Peggy was deeply loved by all who knew her. She had a gift for forming lifelong bonds, from her Minnesota family roots to her treasured "Besties": Pat from high school, Ruth and Joyce from Brunk Road, the Lovely Ladies, Val and the school gals, and later Carol and her Brightview circle. Her kindness and radiant spirit drew people in—Peggy never met a stranger, only future friends.
Peggy worked as a clothing sales associate then a bank teller, before discovering her true calling working for Baltimore County Schools, where she won Educator of the Year twice.
Peggy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle and accepting spirit, boundless generosity, energy, and the quiet strength that carried her through the joys of life. Her presence lit up every room, and her love will echo through generations to come.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071. A gathering in the sanctuary (in the big church) from 10-11 am, and Mass starts at 11 am in the Little/Historical Church.
