Margarete Therese Semrau Neteler, 75, of Finksburg died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born July 10, 1934 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Willhelm Semrau and Aenne Strothenke Semrau. She was the wife of John M. Neteler, her husband of 50 years.
Mrs. Neteler was a partner with her husband John in their family business John Neteler Auto Sales and Service in Finksburg.
She was active in her community for over 40 years, most recently including the Westminster YMCA and Stampin' Up Clubs. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, swimming and spending time with her family. She recently traveled to Europe for their 50th Wedding Anniversary and her 75th birthday celebration with her family in Germany.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children and spouses Joachim and Joni Neteler of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Beate and John Brodbeck, Jr. of Hampstead, and Kerstin Neteler of Emeryville, CA; her grandchildren Katie and Becca Neteler of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and John III and Jessica Brodbeck of Hampstead; her brother and sister in law Heinrich and Anne Semrau; her sister and brother in law Hildegard and Heinrich Gubatz; her brothers in law and sisters in law Gregor and Irmgard Neteler and Ewald and Ursula Neteler, Peter and Christa Wagner.
The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with a memorial service to follow.
Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
