Marguerite Porter Newman

Marguerite Porter Newman, 94, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born on August 5, 1927, in Fayette County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willis R. and Mary M. Blaney Dills. Twice married, she was the beloved wife of the late D. Bryson Porter and the late Kenneth Newman.

Years ago, Marguerite worked as a school bus driver for Baltimore County. She was a longtime member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church. Marguerite enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving her are children: Beverly Pittinger and husband Charles Jr. of Finksburg, MD, Brenda Porter and husband George Bopst of Westminster, MD, Bobbie Cashman and husband Mark of Littlestown, PA, Billie Porter and husband John "Pete" Grove of Finksburg, MD, and Timothy B. Porter and wife Denise of Gettysburg, PA, son-in-law: Michael Boyle, stepchildren: Debra Tajc, Kenneth Newman, and Carrie Newman, grandchildren: Melissa Acuti, Meredith Metzger, Susan Levine, Charles Pittinger III, Abigail Stiffler, Allen Messenger, George Bopst, Jennifer Matrey, Danielle Cashman, David Porter, Amy Paylor, and Megan Porter, stepgrandchild: Krista Willwert, 13 great-grandchildren, and sisters: Patricia Runner of Fairchance, PA, Sandra Sutton and husband Philip of Fairchance, PA, and Cheryl Nale of Flintstone, MD. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was predeceased by a daughter: Bonnie Boyle, step-grandson: Neal Grove, 1 great-grandchild, and brothers: Robert and Roger Dills.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 12, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, at 12 pm.

Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
