Marie Delores Oakes

Marie Delores Oakes, 87, of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at FutureCare Cherrywood in Reisterstown, MD. Born on August 11, 1937, in Baltimore City, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alexander William Godwin and Gertrude Agnes Prince Godwin. She was the beloved wife of the late William David Oakes, II, who passed away in 2000.

Marie was a wonderful person who loved life, her children, and took care of everyone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are children: William D. Oakes, III, Dorothy Williams, David Oakes, and Gary Oakes, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister: Margie Silva.

She was predeceased by her son: Ralph Oakes, and 11 siblings.
