Marie G. Shipley, 87, of Owings Mills died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Oct. 20, 1920, in Reisterstown, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Carrie M. Byerly Garman. She was the wife of Webster Edward Shipley Jr.
She was a clerical worker for Rosewood Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 116 Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She had visited every state in the United States.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children and spouses Donna M. and George Weih of Glyndon, and Webster E. III and Maritza Shipley of Florida; grandchildren Bart E. and Carrie M. Weih, and Joseph W. and William E. Shipley; and siblings Edward Garman of Westminster, Arthur Garman and Mary Bean, both of Reisterstown, James Garman of Cockeysville and Doris Mann of Pikesville.
She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Bennett; and brothers George B. and Louis W. Garman.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Louis Piel officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Upperco.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
