Marion Schaffer Frock

Marion Schaffer Frock, 96, of New Oxford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at UMPC Pinnacle Hanover. Born on October 24, 1922, in Carroll Co., MD, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Jennie Ora Fritz. Married twice, she was the loving wife of the late Lawrence M. Schaffer, Sr., who passed away in 1957, and the late Bernard M. Frock, Sr., who passed away in 1979.

Years ago, Marion worked for Hanover Shoe and Black and Decker, and later in life, she was a caretaker at the Children's Development Center in Abbottstown, PA. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ in Snydersburg.

Surviving her are children: Lawrence Schaffer, Jr., and wife Cathy of Manchester, MD, Kenneth Schaffer and wife Nancy of Hampstead, MD, Rebecca Allison of Indio, California, and Louise Carr and husband Arthur of Taneytown, MD, stepchildren: Bernard Frock, Jr., of York Springs, PA, Faye Frock of Gettysburg, PA, Dennis Frock and wife Vanessa of Hanover, PA, and Timothy Frock and wife Suzanne of New Oxford, PA, 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by children: Margaret Schaffer and Arlene A. Yingling, a grandchild: Debra S. Peregoy, great-grandchild: Erin Chappelli Peregoy, and siblings: Guy Sterling Fritz, Kenneth F. Fritz, Evelyn L. Fritz, Kathryn I. Wiment, and Betty L. Fritz.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 25, from 9-10 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Mark's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Snydersburg, MD.
